See Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. Yorkies have a beautiful, long, silky coat, and since they shed very little, they're often recommended for people with allergies. Even though they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. However, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They quickly become part of most families. Families in the Palos, Illinois area often find it challenging to locate a reputable Yorkie breeder, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we take great pride in making our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies available to families in Palos. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Ones to Choose

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We go far beyond the minimum standards. We only work with genetically tested adult dogs from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are all well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

We start every puppy on Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Our puppies enjoy playing and exploring in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see where your puppy was raised, spend time with our dogs, and meet us face to face. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Palos comes up 334 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Palos Hills IL, Hickory Hills IL, Justice IL, Palos Heights IL, Willow Springs IL, Palos Park IL, and Hodgkins IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Palos families are Chicago Midway International Airport, and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.
