Find Out Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. That said, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They quickly become part of most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the Oak Lawn, Illinois area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're proud to bring our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Oak Lawn. We want every family to enjoy a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Makes Our Puppies a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards reach well past the basics. Every adult dog we own is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of space for playing and socializing.

We put every puppy through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it builds the foundation for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies explore and play in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. It's a chance to see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. Placing our Yorkies is something we take seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love meeting new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our puppies grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Oak Lawn, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Oak Lawn that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in Cook County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Oak Lawn comes up 330 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Burbank IL, Evergreen Park IL, Alsip IL, Chicago Ridge IL, Crestwood IL, Worth IL, and Hometown IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Oak Lawn families are Chicago Midway International Airport, and Gary Chicago International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
