Learn Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. This breed is known for its long, beautiful, silky coat, and because it sheds very little, it's often recommended for people with allergies. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what most people love is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Even better, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They usually fit right in with most families. In the Orland Park, Illinois area, reputable Yorkie breeders can be tough to find, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Orland Park. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can truly count on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Ones to Choose

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We aim much higher than the basics. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested, and each comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. We let our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This gives them great socialization and plenty of exercise at the same time.

We invite you to visit and choose your puppy in person whenever possible. That way, you can meet us face to face and see our home and our dogs. We're careful about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's always more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Orland Park, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Orland Park that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in Cook County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Orland Park comes up 333 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including and Orland IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Orland Park families are Chicago Midway International Airport, and Gary Chicago International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
