Find Out Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The fact that they love to cuddle and stay close all the time is the icing on the cake. They adjust easily to life with most families. Because responsible breeders are so rare across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Nunda, Illinois area can be tough. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Nunda. Our goal is for every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Makes Our Puppies a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards reach well past the basics. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and enjoy plenty of room to play and socialize.

Our puppies all go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which involves gentle handling exercises in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, laying the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. In the backyard, our puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. That playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you can make the trip, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you get to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy has had their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam by the time they go home. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Nunda, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Nunda that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in McHenry County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Nunda comes up 366 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including McHenry IL, Island Lake IL, Oakwood Hills IL, Prairie Grove IL, Port Barrington IL, and Holiday Hills IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Nunda families are Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and Chicago Rockford International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
