Get to Know Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. Yorkies have a long, beautiful, silky coat and are often recommended for people with allergies because they shed very little. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but you'd never guess it from their feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But what most people love is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. On top of that, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. For most families, a Yorkie fits right in. It's not always easy to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Lake in the Hills, Illinois area, because responsible breeders are scarce across the country. That's why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Lake in the Hills. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Here's Why Our Puppies Are the Best

The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. Every adult dog we own is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have all the room they need to play and socialize.

All of our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.

If you can, we'd love for you to come see us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you get to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take the placement of our Yorkies seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. Making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes are all things we love.

Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Lake in the Hills that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in McHenry County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Lake in the Hills comes up 366 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including and Algonquin IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Lake in the Hills families are Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and Chicago Rockford International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
