See the Reasons We Love Yorkies

The Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. Yorkies have a beautiful, long, silky coat, and since they shed very little, they're often recommended for people with allergies. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family are what really win people over. Then there's their love of cuddling and staying close all the time, which is the icing on the cake. Yorkies make a wonderful fit for most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the Meridian, Michigan area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we take great pride in making our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies available to families in Meridian. We want every family to have the chance to own a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

See What Sets Our Puppies Apart

We breed and raise our Yorkies the right way here at The Puppy House. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines that are known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

All our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises we do in the first few weeks of life. We also focus on socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's a fun way for them to get exercise too.

If it works for you, we invite you to visit and pick out your puppy in person. While you're here, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. It means a lot to us to make new friends, keep in touch, and watch our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Getting a Yorkie Puppy Home to Meridian, Michigan

Three ways work here, and which one we suggest for Meridian mostly comes down to how you feel about the drive.

Pickup at the farm is free and it's the option we point Michigan families toward first. The drive is short by our standards. From Meridian it's 211 miles, which works out to 3 to 5 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration at the table, and drive home with the puppy in your lap rather than in a van.

Home delivery by ground is our most popular option. It costs a flat $350 anywhere in Michigan, so a Ingham County address pays the same whether it's in Meridian or out in , including Okemos MI, Haslett MI, Owosso MI, Williamstown MI, Williamston MI, Woodhull MI, Conway MI, Corunna MI, Bennington MI, Shiawassee MI, Ingham MI, Antrim MI, Perry MI, Locke MI, Sciota MI, Wheatfield MI, Middlebury MI, Webberville MI, Laingsburg MI, Rush MI, White Oak MI, Morrice MI, Lake Victoria MI, Middletown MI, and Dansville MI. A professional transport service drives door to door in a climate controlled van, the puppy travels in an individual carrier after a pre transport vet check, and you get updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and most families are holding their puppy within about three days of departure, often sooner given how short the run north is.

Flight nanny is the fast option and gets quoted per flight. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. Yorkies make this easy because a puppy and an airline approved soft carrier together come nowhere near the twenty pound cabin limit. Meridian families would meet the nanny at Capital Region International Airport, and Bishop International Airport. Health certificates are arranged before travel, and weather delays are worth planning around in winter.
