The Reasons We Adore Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, affectionately called Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. The breed's long, silky coat is beautiful and sheds very little, so Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies generally weigh 7 pounds or less, yet they carry themselves with a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. And their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They adapt well to most families. With so few responsible breeders across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the East Lansing, Michigan area can be a challenge. This is exactly why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in East Lansing. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Discover What Sets Our Puppies Apart

At The Puppy House, we don't cut corners when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We go far beyond the minimum standards. All of our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and every one is genetically tested. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, laying the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore outside in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We welcome you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you're able to. That way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Getting a Yorkie Puppy Home to East Lansing, Michigan

Three ways work here, and which one we suggest for East Lansing mostly comes down to how you feel about the drive.

Pickup at the farm is free and it's the option we point Michigan families toward first. The drive is short by our standards. From East Lansing it's 214 miles, which works out to 3 to 5 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration at the table, and drive home with the puppy in your lap rather than in a van.

Home delivery by ground is our most popular option. It costs a flat $350 anywhere in Michigan, so a Clinton County address pays the same whether it's in East Lansing or out in , including St. Johns MI, Victor MI, Bingham MI, Duplain MI, Bath MI, Greenbush MI, Chapin MI, Elsie MI, and Ashley MI. A professional transport service drives door to door in a climate controlled van, the puppy travels in an individual carrier after a pre transport vet check, and you get updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and most families are holding their puppy within about three days of departure, often sooner given how short the run north is.

Flight nanny is the fast option and gets quoted per flight. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. Yorkies make this easy because a puppy and an airline approved soft carrier together come nowhere near the twenty pound cabin limit. East Lansing families would meet the nanny at Capital Region International Airport, and Bishop International Airport. Health certificates are arranged before travel, and weather delays are worth planning around in winter.
