Learn the Reasons We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, affectionately called Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed's gorgeous, long, silky coat sheds very little, so it's often suggested for people with allergies. For a dog that typically weighs 7 pounds or less, the Yorkie has a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family that really win people over. Their love of snuggling up and staying by your side is the icing on the cake. They adjust easily to life with most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the East Peoria, Illinois area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. That's why offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in East Peoria is something we take great pride in. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Learn What Sets Our Puppies Apart

We breed and raise our Yorkies the right way here at The Puppy House. We set our standards well above the basics. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines with a history of great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.

We put every puppy through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization matters just as much, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore outside in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you're able, come visit us and pick out your puppy in person. It's a chance to see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy has their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going to their new home. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to East Peoria, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From East Peoria that's 7 to 9 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in Tazewell County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. East Peoria comes up 417 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Peoria IL, Pekin IL, Groveland IL, Washington IL, Morton IL, Bartonville IL, Eureka IL, Creve Coeur IL, Marquette Heights IL, Mackinaw IL, Heritage Lake IL, Cruger IL, and Deer Creek IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for East Peoria families are General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport, and Central Illinois Regional Airport at Bloomington-Normal. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
