Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Clinton, IA
See Why We're Crazy About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, better known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts here at The Puppy House. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. Even though they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying right by your side is the icing on the cake. They fit in well with most families. Reputable Yorkie breeders can be hard to find in the Clinton, Iowa area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. Because of this, we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Clinton. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.

Why Families Love Our Puppies
At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. We go far beyond the minimum standards. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested, and each comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. We take good care of our dogs and give them plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Next comes socialization, another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. It's great for their social skills, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
If it works for you, we invite you to visit and pick out your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies in new homes is something we take seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale for us. We enjoy making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before your puppy comes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
How Your Yorkie Puppy Travels to Clinton, Iowa: Fees and Timing
Home delivery by ground
Clinton families choose this more often than anything else, and we would suggest it first. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a veterinary check before departure, and updates from the road. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Most families across the country have their puppy in hand within about three days of departure. Iowa is on the shorter side of that since the route runs west along the interstate corridor rather than across the country. Clinton sits 454 miles into that run, and the driver works through , including Dubuque IA, Sterling IL, Coloma IL, Rock Falls IL, Mount Pleasant IL, Camanche IA, Morrison IL, Fulton IL, Savanna IL, Montmorency IL, Hopkins IL, Prophetstown IL, Coe IL, Phenix IL, Mount Carroll IL, Erie IL, Walnut IL, Union Grove IL, Annawan IL, Garden Plain IL, Princeton IA, Atkinson IL, Preston IA, Albany IL, Fairhaven IL, Genesee IL, Elizabeth IL, Tampico IL, Canoe Creek IL, Cordova IL, Lyndon IL, Como IL, Ustick IL, Woodbine IL, Thomson IL, Sabula IA, Chadwick IL, Fenton IL, and Hillsdale IL on the same pass, along with any other Clinton County address. Cost is a flat $450 for the state, and no airport trip is involved.
Flight nanny
A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight and hands it over at baggage claim, never in cargo. Most of these are same day. From Clinton, families usually meet the flight at Quad City International Airport, and Dubuque Regional Airport, and because there's no direct route from our corner of Ohio you should plan on a connection. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. A Yorkshire Terrier clears the weight limit with room to spare at four to seven pounds, so the carrier is comfortable rather than tight. Flight nanny costs more than ground and gets quoted per flight, and weather delays are part of the deal.
Pickup in Sugarcreek
You're welcome to come get the puppy yourself by appointment. Clinton is 8 to 10 hours out, so this is a full weekend rather than a day trip, but some families want to see where the puppy was raised and go over the records, microchip registration and guarantee in person. If you're making the drive anyway, that's the best version of the handoff.
Travel comes with one breed specific caution. Very young toy puppies can drop their blood sugar after a stressful stretch or a missed meal, so whichever method you pick, plan on small frequent meals for the first few days at home and keep the first evening quiet. Call or text us at (330) 275-4443 and we'll talk through which option makes sense for Clinton.
