Learn the Reasons We Love Yorkies

The Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Although Yorkies usually weigh no more than 7 pounds, their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. Yet what really wins people over is their sweet disposition and the deep bond they form with their family. Even better, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They tend to fit right in with most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near Baldwin Park, California can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Baldwin Park. It matters to us that every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Learn What Sets Our Puppies Apart

We breed and raise our Yorkies the right way here at The Puppy House. We go above and beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested, and they come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

We put every puppy through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore outside in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. Besides being great socialization, it gives them plenty of exercise.

We welcome you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you're able to. That way, you can check out our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy is given their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Baldwin Park, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Baldwin Park the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Baldwin Park means 2030 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Baldwin Park or in , including and Irwindale CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Baldwin Park. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Ontario International Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Baldwin Park we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
