Learn What We Love About Yorkies

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, known to most people as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Although Yorkies usually weigh no more than 7 pounds, their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. But at heart, Yorkies win people over with their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. On top of that, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They settle into most family homes with ease. If you live in the Walnut, California area, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. Because of this, we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Walnut. Our hope is that every family can have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Best Around

At The Puppy House, we take care to breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. We go far beyond the minimum standards. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines that are known for great temperaments. Every dog here is well cared for and has lots of room to play and socialize.

During their first few weeks, our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. Socialization is another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you can, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy gets their first round of vaccinations and is checked thoroughly by a veterinarian. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Walnut, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Walnut the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Walnut means 2027 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Walnut or in , including and Diamond Bar CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Walnut. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Ontario International Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Walnut we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
