The Reasons We Love Yorkies

At The Puppy House, we have a soft spot for Yorkshire Terriers, better known as Yorkies. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their fondness for cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit in well with most families. Families in the Troy, Ohio area often find it challenging to locate a reputable Yorkie breeder, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we take great pride in bringing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Troy. We want to make sure every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

See What Makes Our Puppies the Best

At The Puppy House, we don't cut corners when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for their great temperaments. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step in helping our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. In the backyard, our puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's excellent socialization, and it gives them lots of exercise as well.

We welcome you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you're able to. That way, you can see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies seriously, and we see it as much more than a one-time sale. Making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes are all things we love.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first set of shots and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Free Pickup, or $250 Delivery to Troy, Ohio

Coming to get the puppy

Pickup is free and it's what most Ohio families choose. From Troy the farm is 139 miles away, 2 to 4 hours by car. A visit is also what separates a breeder from the large puppy websites, which are brokers listing dogs from kennels they have never walked into. Visits are by appointment. That isn't us being formal about it. This is a working farm, and an appointment means the time gets set aside for you properly rather than fitted in between chores. Come out, take as long as you want, and ask us anything. Nobody has ever been rushed off this property.

We're closed Sundays. A message left with us then usually gets answered Monday morning.

Home delivery

If the drive genuinely doesn't work, home delivery to Troy, to , including Concord OH, Monroe OH, Tipp City OH, Johnson OH, Staunton OH, Lostcreek OH, and Christiansburg OH, or anywhere else in Miami County is $250, which is the lowest rate we charge anywhere. Your puppy travels with a pet delivery service in a climate controlled van, in a carrier of its own, and there are always two drivers so somebody is with the puppies the whole way. Their own veterinarian checks each puppy over after pickup and before the van leaves the driveway. Reserve before noon on Monday and it usually runs that week.

Flying makes little sense inside Ohio and almost nobody asks for it. If you did want it, the nanny would land at James M. Cox Dayton International Airport, and Cincinnati Municipal Airport Lunken Field, but a commercial flight with an in-flight nanny runs $750 to $1,200, which buys you nothing on a drive this short.
