Learn What We Adore About Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, commonly known as Yorkies, hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at The Puppy House. This breed is known for its long, beautiful, silky coat, and because it sheds very little, it's often recommended for people with allergies. Most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, but their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. But what wins people's hearts is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They're a great match for most families. Searching for a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Queens, New York area can be challenging, given how few responsible breeders there are nationwide. That's exactly why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Queens. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

Find Out Why Our Puppies Are the Best

When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, The Puppy House does things the right way. Our standards go well past the bare minimum. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for their great temperaments. Our dogs get great care and plenty of room to play and socialize.

In the first few weeks of life, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. Socialization is another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Playtime happens in the backyard, where our puppies explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's excellent socialization, and it gives them lots of exercise as well.

If you're able to, we'd love for you to visit and choose your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies in new homes is something we take seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale for us. We love forming new friendships, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkshire Terrier Delivery to Queens, New York

There are three ways to get your puppy home to Queens, and we settle on one during a phone call after the deposit is in.

Farm pickup in Sugarcreek. New York is one of the states where driving out makes sense for a lot of families. From Queens you're looking at 7 to 9 hours each way, 408 miles on the road. You get to see the facility, meet the parents, and go over the health records and microchip registration at the kitchen table. Visits are by appointment.

Ground delivery. A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in its own carrier, with updates along the way. New York is a flat $350. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and New York is an early stop on the eastern route, so most families here are holding their puppy the next day. That matters more than it sounds for this breed, since a Yorkshire Terrier has a single silky coat with no undercoat and not much defense against a cold February morning. The van stays temperature controlled the whole way. Around Queens County the driver also delivers to , and the whole arrangement suits anyone who would rather not deal with an airport.

Flight nanny. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin, under the seat in an airline approved soft carrier, and never in cargo. Most flights are done same day. For Queens, we meet families at baggage claim at LaGuardia Airport, and John F. Kennedy International Airport. Yorkshire Terriers clear the twenty pound carrier limit without any trouble at four to seven pounds, so the breed is about as easy as it gets on a plane. We arrange the health certificate before travel, and the puppy has to be at least eight weeks old. Cost runs above ground delivery and is quoted per flight.

What we suggest for Queens. If 7 to 9 hours each way is a day you can spare, come get the puppy yourself. It's a pretty drive. You'll learn more in an hour at the farm than in a dozen text messages. If that's more road than you want, ground delivery at $350 is the sensible choice. Flight nanny is for families who want the puppy in their arms in a matter of hours.
