Find Out Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts

Yorkshire Terriers, often called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Small as they are at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, what wins most people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They fit right in with most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Mountain View, California area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. That's exactly why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Mountain View. Our hope is that every family can have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Sets Our Puppies Apart

At The Puppy House, we believe in doing things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold our program to standards well beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for their great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.

From the start, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They get plenty of time to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. That playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll be able to look around our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We love building new friendships, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Mountain View, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Mountain View the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Mountain View means 2165 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Mountain View or in , including Sunnyvale CA, and Los Altos CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Mountain View. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Santa Clara County families meet their nanny at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, and San Carlos Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Mountain View we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
