Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Los Altos, CA

Learn Why We Adore Yorkies
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Don't let their size fool you. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family are what really win people over. Their love of cuddles and being near you all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit right in with most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Los Altos, California area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. That's why we take great pride in making our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies available to families in Los Altos. We believe every family deserves access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Makes Our Puppies Stand Out
When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, we do things the right way at The Puppy House. We hold our program to standards well beyond the basics. Every adult dog we own is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs get great care and plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it helps build good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. We let our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.
If you're able to, we'd love for you to visit and choose your puppy in person. That way, you can tour our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. Our favorite part is making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Los Altos, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Los Altos the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Los Altos means 2167 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Los Altos or in , including Mountain View CA, Los Altos Hills CA, and Loyola CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Los Altos. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Santa Clara County families meet their nanny at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, and San Carlos Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Los Altos we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
