Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Modesto, CA
Discover Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts
Yorkshire Terriers, often called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. Their coat is long, silky, and beautiful, and because it sheds very little, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Small as they are at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. However, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit easily into most families. Given how few responsible breeders there are across the country, finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Modesto, California area can be difficult. This is why we're so proud to offer carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Modesto. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.

What Sets Our Puppies Apart
At The Puppy House, we believe in doing things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. All of our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and every one is genetically tested. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.
All our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises we do in the first few weeks of life. We also focus on socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. It's great for socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We invite you to visit and choose your puppy in person whenever possible. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends along the way, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Every puppy has their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going to their new home. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Modesto, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Modesto the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Modesto means 2103 miles and 41 to 43 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Modesto or in , including Ceres CA, Salida CA, West Modesto CA, Bret Harte CA, Bystrom CA, Rouse CA, Airport CA, and Riverdale Park CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Modesto. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Stanislaus County families meet their nanny at Stockton Metropolitan Airport, and Merced Regional Macready Field. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Modesto we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
