Find Out Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. Yorkies are low-shedding dogs with long, beautiful, silky coats, and they're often recommended for people with allergies. They may be tiny, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. Their love of cuddling and always staying close is the icing on the cake. They settle into most family homes with ease. Responsible breeders are few and far between across the country, which makes finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Hurst, Texas area a challenge. This is why we're proud to make our carefully bred Yorkie puppies available to families in Hurst. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.

Discover Why Our Yorkie Puppies Are the Best

Breeding and raising Yorkies the right way matters to us at The Puppy House. Our standards go much further than the basics. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with great temperaments. We take good care of our dogs and give them plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each of our puppies receives Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a set of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another big part of the process, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. They get great socialization this way, along with plenty of exercise.

If you're able, come visit us and pick out your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before they go home. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Puppy Delivery to Hurst, Texas

Home delivery by ground transport

A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. Hurst is 1009 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Tarrant County include Hurst along with , including and Bedford TX.

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and Hurst families usually meet their nanny at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, and Fort Worth Meacham International Airport. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.

Pickup at the farm

Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From Hurst that's 19 to 21 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.

What we suggest for Hurst

For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
