Here's Why We Adore Yorkies

At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. Their coat is long, silky, and beautiful, and because it sheds very little, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. While most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what wins people's hearts is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. To top it off, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They settle into most family homes with ease. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area can be difficult, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're so proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Harrisburg. It matters to us that every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

See Why Our Puppies Stand Out

The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards go well beyond the basics. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with a reputation for great temperaments. Each of our dogs is well cared for and has lots of room to play and be social.

All of our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step in helping our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. They spend time in the backyard playing and exploring with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's excellent socialization, and it gives them lots of exercise as well.

We'd love for you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. During your visit, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We treat placing our Yorkies as more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love building new friendships, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Yorkshire Terrier Delivery to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Every puppy leaves from Sugarcreek, and there are three ways to get one home to Harrisburg.

Farm pickup. You drive to us by appointment and take your puppy home the same day. From Harrisburg that's 250 miles, about 4 to 6 hours each way. Visiting lets you see where your puppy was raised, meet us, and go over the health records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. When the drive is short enough to do in a day, this is the option we point Pennsylvania families toward first.

Home delivery by ground. A professional transport service drives your puppy to your door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Pennsylvania sits in our regional tier, a flat $350. Transports leave on Tuesdays, and Pennsylvania destinations are usually next day arrivals, so Dauphin County families, whether in Harrisburg or in , including Susquehanna PA, Swatara PA, Camp Hill PA, New Cumberland PA, Lower Allen PA, Lemoyne PA, Wormleysburg PA, and Penbrook PA, have their puppy within a day of departure. This is the most popular choice statewide and the one we recommend whenever the drive to us is more than you want to take on.

Flight nanny. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. Most of these are completed in a single day. For Harrisburg, the options are Harrisburg International Airport, and Lancaster Airport. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and costs more than ground, and it needs a puppy at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds with the carrier, a health certificate, and some flexibility if weather pushes the schedule. A Yorkie is nowhere near that weight limit, so the carrier requirement is never an issue for this breed.

Your puppy travels with a bag of the food it has been eating. Whichever method you pick, the timing and the fee get confirmed on a call rather than at checkout.
