Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Fort Lauderdale, FL

See Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us
Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. Their coat is long, silky, and beautiful, and because it sheds very little, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Even at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can come across as feisty and bossy. But underneath that attitude, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. Yorkies adapt easily to most families. Because responsible breeders are so rare across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area can be tough. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Fort Lauderdale. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Fort Lauderdale
Why Our Yorkie Puppies Are the Best
At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. We genetically test all of our adult dogs, and each one comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. The puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We encourage you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. While you're here, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take the placement of our Yorkies seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Getting Your Puppy From Sugarcreek to Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Families are welcome to pick up in person at the farm by appointment. From Fort Lauderdale that means 996 miles on the road and 19 to 21 hours of driving each way, a two day trip for most Floridians. The families who make it come for the visit as much as the puppy, since it's the one way to walk the property, meet the parent dogs, and go over the health records and microchip registration face to face.
Ground transport is what most Florida families use. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a veterinary check before departure, and updates along the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and Florida runs take two to three days depending on the route and the stops before yours. Florida falls in our regional pricing tier at a flat $350, which is the same fee we charge Pennsylvania and Georgia even though the drive is several times longer. That rate covers Fort Lauderdale, , including Oakland Park FL, Boulevard Gardens FL, and Franklin Park FL, and any other address in Broward County.
Flight nanny is the answer when you want the puppy home fast. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these deliveries finish the same day. For Fort Lauderdale, nannies fly into Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, and Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus some flexibility on your end if weather pushes a flight. Cost is quoted per flight rather than by tier. The farther down the peninsula you are, the faster the driving miles pile up, and the extra money can buy back a full day.
Two things about this breed are worth knowing before travel day. A grown Yorkshire Terrier tops out around seven pounds, so the 20 pound in cabin limit is never a problem, and a puppy this small can dip low on blood sugar after a long day of travel. Small frequent meals in the first days home are the fix, and we go over that with you before your puppy leaves. If you're meeting a nanny at an airport in July, park close and get the carrier into air conditioning quickly rather than letting it sit in a hot garage.
