Explore Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. Yorkies are low-shedding dogs with long, beautiful, silky coats, and they're often recommended for people with allergies. They may be tiny, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. Still, their sweet nature and the deep connection they form with their family are what really win people over. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. Yorkies fit right in with most families. There are very few responsible breeders across the country, so finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Chaska, Minnesota area can be difficult. This is why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Chaska. We want every family to be able to bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Here's What Sets Our Puppies Apart

Here at The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards go well beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and every one is genetically tested. Every one of our dogs is well cared for and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

We put every puppy through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is also an important step, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. Our puppies spend time playing and exploring in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. They get great socialization this way, along with plenty of exercise.

If it works for you, we invite you to visit and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can meet us face to face and see our home and our dogs. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We enjoy gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Getting Your Puppy to Chaska, Minnesota

Ground transport is the common choice in Chaska. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a vet check before departure, and updates along the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and at 676 miles out, Chaska is a two to three day route. The fee is a flat $450 for Minnesota, which covers the whole trip whether you're in Chaska, in , including Shakopee MN, Waconia MN, Victoria MN, Belle Plaine MN, Jordan MN, Carver MN, Glencoe MN, Watertown MN, Norwood Young America MN, St. Bonifacius MN, Mayer MN, Winsted MN, Laketown MN, Cologne MN, Helena MN, Lester Prairie MN, Sand Creek MN, Louisville MN, Woodland MN, Victor MN, Hollywood MN, Camden MN, Bergen MN, Dahlgren MN, San Francisco MN, Helen MN, Benton MN, Silver Lake MN, Young America MN, Faxon MN, Rich Valley MN, Tyrone MN, Green Isle MN, St. Lawrence MN, Derrynane MN, and Hamburg MN, or elsewhere in Carver County.

Flight nanny is the faster option. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. For Chaska families, our flights land at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport / Wold–Chamberlain Field, and Saint Cloud Regional Airport. Cabin travel has a twenty pound limit including the carrier, which a Yorkshire Terrier puppy clears with room to spare. Flights are quoted individually and cost more than ground. One thing worth planning around is that January and February weather in Minnesota can push a flight a day, so we ask families to keep a little flexibility in the schedule.

Pickup at the farm is open to anyone by appointment. From Chaska the drive is 13 to 15 hours, which means an overnight each way. Families who make the trip get to see the facility, meet the parents, and go over the health records and microchip registration in person. For most Minnesota buyers, ground transport is the sensible pick, with flight nanny worth the extra money if you're close to the airport and don't want to wait out the drive. Whichever way you go, we settle the method, the timing, and the fee on a phone call after the puppy is reserved. Call or text us at (330) 275-4443 if you want to walk through the options before choosing a puppy.
