Learn Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat that sheds very little, making it a popular recommendation for people with allergies. Small as they are at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the real reason people fall for Yorkies is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They adjust easily to life with most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the Burlington, Vermont area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Burlington. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Stand Out

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Our dogs are all well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

Our puppies each go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it helps build good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can check out our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies in new homes is something we take seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale for us. We enjoy making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before they go home, all of our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Delivery Options for Burlington, Vermont Families

Ground delivery is what we recommend for almost everyone in Burlington. A professional pet transport service brings the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, a carrier of its own, a veterinary check before leaving, and updates en route. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, the flat fee to Vermont is $350, and northeastern routes usually run a day or so on the road. Burlington is 510 miles from the farm, and the same driver handles , including Essex VT, South Burlington VT, Plattsburgh NY, Colchester VT, Middlebury VT, North Elba NY, Shelburne VT, Winooski VT, Peru NY, Malone NY, Beekmantown NY, Saranac Lake NY, Schuyler Falls NY, Hinesburg VT, Moriah NY, Chazy NY, Saranac NY, Bristol VT, Charlotte VT, Brandon VT, Mooers NY, Dannemora NY, Au Sable NY, Keeseville NY, Altona NY, Moira NY, Ferrisburgh VT, Vergennes VT, Jay NY, Lake Placid NY, Chesterfield NY, Bangor NY, Grand Isle VT, Rouses Point NY, Monkton VT, Willsboro NY, Westville NY, New Haven VT, Ellenburg NY, South Hero VT, Fort Covington NY, Constable NY, Burke NY, Black Brook NY, St. Armand NY, Cumberland Head NY, Mineville NY, Bellmont NY, Addison VT, Plattsburgh West NY, Lewis NY, Bombay NY, Wilmington NY, Morrisonville NY, Westport NY, Shoreham VT, Cornwall VT, Bridport VT, Port Henry NY, Chittenden VT, Salisbury VT, Leicester VT, Elizabethtown NY, Keene NY, Champlain NY, Weybridge VT, Chateaugay NY, St. George VT, Panton VT, Essex NY, Paul Smiths NY, Ripton VT, and Brandon NY and any other Chittenden County address on that trip.

Flight nanny is the faster option if you would rather not wait on a driving route. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin at their own seat, never in cargo, and passes the puppy to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. The practical arrival points for Burlington are Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport, and Plattsburgh International Airport. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and needs a health certificate, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and some flexibility if weather closes in. A grown Yorkie tops out around seven pounds. The under twenty pound cabin limit is never an issue for this breed.

Farm pickup is open to anyone willing to make the trip. You would see where the puppy was raised and go over the records and microchip registration with us in person. From Burlington it's 9 to 11 hours each way, a two day round trip for most families, which is why so few take it. We settle the method, the timing, and the fee on a call once a puppy is reserved.
