Find Out Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Although Yorkies usually weigh no more than 7 pounds, their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. But their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family are what really win people over. Plus, they love cuddling and staying close all the time, which makes them even more special. They blend right in with most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Dania Beach, Florida area can be difficult, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Dania Beach. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

What Makes Our Puppies a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards reach well past the basics. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested, and each comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. We take good care of our dogs and give them plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy starts out with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done over the first few weeks. Socialization is also an important step, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. In our backyard, the puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's a fun way for them to get exercise too.

If possible, we invite you to come visit us and choose your puppy in person. You'll get to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, hearing from them over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Getting Your Puppy From Sugarcreek to Dania Beach, Florida

Families are welcome to pick up in person at the farm by appointment. From Dania Beach that means 1001 miles on the road and 19 to 21 hours of driving each way, a two day trip for most Floridians. The families who make it come for the visit as much as the puppy, since it's the one way to walk the property, meet the parent dogs, and go over the health records and microchip registration face to face.

Ground transport is what most Florida families use. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a veterinary check before departure, and updates along the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and Florida runs take two to three days depending on the route and the stops before yours. Florida falls in our regional pricing tier at a flat $350, which is the same fee we charge Pennsylvania and Georgia even though the drive is several times longer. That rate covers Dania Beach, , and any other address in Broward County.

Flight nanny is the answer when you want the puppy home fast. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these deliveries finish the same day. For Dania Beach, nannies fly into Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, and Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus some flexibility on your end if weather pushes a flight. Cost is quoted per flight rather than by tier. The farther down the peninsula you are, the faster the driving miles pile up, and the extra money can buy back a full day.

Two things about this breed are worth knowing before travel day. A grown Yorkshire Terrier tops out around seven pounds, so the 20 pound in cabin limit is never a problem, and a puppy this small can dip low on blood sugar after a long day of travel. Small frequent meals in the first days home are the fix, and we go over that with you before your puppy leaves. If you're meeting a nanny at an airport in July, park close and get the carrier into air conditioning quickly rather than letting it sit in a hot garage.
