See Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. Most families find that Yorkies fit right in. Searching for a reputable Yorkie breeder in the West Pensacola, Florida area can be challenging, given how few responsible breeders there are nationwide. For that reason, we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in West Pensacola. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Why Our Puppies Are a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. All the adult dogs in our program are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and enjoy plenty of room to play and socialize.

Our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done during the first few weeks of life. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. In our backyard, the puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to stop by and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can tour our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We enjoy gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Getting Your Puppy From Sugarcreek to West Pensacola, Florida

Families are welcome to pick up in person at the farm by appointment. From West Pensacola that means 764 miles on the road and 14 to 16 hours of driving each way, a two day trip for most Floridians. The families who make it come for the visit as much as the puppy, since it's the one way to walk the property, meet the parent dogs, and go over the health records and microchip registration face to face.

Ground transport is what most Florida families use. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a veterinary check before departure, and updates along the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and Florida runs take two to three days depending on the route and the stops before yours. Florida falls in our regional pricing tier at a flat $350, which is the same fee we charge Pennsylvania and Georgia even though the drive is several times longer. That rate covers West Pensacola, , including Bellview FL, Myrtle Grove FL, and Warrington FL, and any other address in Escambia County.

Flight nanny is the answer when you want the puppy home fast. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these deliveries finish the same day. For West Pensacola, nannies fly into Pensacola International Airport, and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus some flexibility on your end if weather pushes a flight. Cost is quoted per flight rather than by tier. The farther down the peninsula you are, the faster the driving miles pile up, and the extra money can buy back a full day.

Two things about this breed are worth knowing before travel day. A grown Yorkshire Terrier tops out around seven pounds, so the 20 pound in cabin limit is never a problem, and a puppy this small can dip low on blood sugar after a long day of travel. Small frequent meals in the first days home are the fix, and we go over that with you before your puppy leaves. If you're meeting a nanny at an airport in July, park close and get the carrier into air conditioning quickly rather than letting it sit in a hot garage.
