See Why We Love Yorkies

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Even though most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, they often act like big dogs, with an attitude that can be feisty and bossy. What really wins people over, though, is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of snuggling up and staying by your side is the icing on the cake. Yorkies fit right in with most families. Families in the Laguna Beach, California area often find it challenging to locate a reputable Yorkie breeder, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's what makes us so proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Laguna Beach. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Why Our Puppies Are Second to None

When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, we do things the right way at The Puppy House. Our standards go well beyond the basics. Our adult dogs are all genetically tested, and they come from strong bloodlines known for wonderful temperaments. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Our puppies explore and play in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We'd be happy to have you visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. This way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy leaves with their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam completed. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Laguna Beach, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Laguna Beach the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Laguna Beach means 2036 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Laguna Beach or in . Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Laguna Beach. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Orange County families meet their nanny at John Wayne Orange County International Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Laguna Beach we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
