Why We Love Yorkies

Everyone at The Puppy House has a soft spot for Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what wins people's hearts is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the cherry on top. Yorkies fit right in with most families. In the Addison, Illinois area, reputable Yorkie breeders can be tough to find, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're so proud to provide families in Addison with our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. Every family deserves a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

See Why Our Puppies Are the Best

At The Puppy House, we're committed to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards are set well above the minimum. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.

From the start, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is also an important step, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. This is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If it works for you, we invite you to visit and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home and our dogs for yourself and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We love keeping in touch with the new friends we make and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Addison, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Addison that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in DuPage County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Addison comes up 345 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Bensenville IL, and Wood Dale IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Addison families are Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and Chicago Midway International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
