Discover Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but you'd never guess it from their feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But their sweet temperament and the deep bond they create with their family are what win people over. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They slip right into family life in most homes. If you live in the York, Illinois area, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we take great pride in bringing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in York. Our goal is for every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Best

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards go far beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested, and each comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Each of our dogs is well cared for and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is just as important, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our vaccinated adult dogs. This is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We'd be happy to have you visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. Rest assured, your new Yorkie will be healthy, happy, and ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to York, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From York that's 6 to 8 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in DuPage County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. York comes up 343 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Oak Brook IL, and Oakbrook Terrace IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for York families are Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and Chicago Midway International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
