Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in West Haven, CT
Here's What We Love About Yorkies
At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But underneath that attitude, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit easily into most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the West Haven, Connecticut area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. That's why we take great pride in bringing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in West Haven. We want to make sure every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In West Haven
Here's Why Our Puppies Are the Best
The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards reach well past the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines that are known for great temperaments. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy we raise goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our pups play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's excellent socialization, and it gives them lots of exercise as well.
If you can make the trip, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. Every Yorkie we place matters to us, and it's never just a one-time sale. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Each puppy has their first round of vaccinations and a full veterinary exam before going home. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Three Ways a Yorkie Puppy Gets to West Haven, Connecticut
Connecticut falls in our regional delivery tier, which means door to door ground transport is a flat $350 in West Haven, in , including New Haven CT, and Woodmont CT, and everywhere else in New Haven County. This is what we recommend for most families here. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Vans leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and because Connecticut sits early on the East Coast route, arrival is usually the next day.
Pickup at the farm is open to anyone willing to make the drive, by appointment. From West Haven that's 457 miles by road, or 8 to 10 hours each way. It makes for a long day. You get to see where the puppy was raised, meet the litter, and go through the health records, microchip registration, and the guarantee face to face before you head home.
Flight nanny is the fastest option and the one families choose when they want the puppy quickly. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin in an airline approved carrier under the seat, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. Most of these finish same day. The practical arrival airports for West Haven are Tweed New Haven Airport, and Long Island MacArthur Airport. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds including the carrier, and travel with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. A grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds, so that weight limit is never the sticking point with this breed. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground, and winter weather can push a date.
We send home a bag of the food the puppy has been eating. The method, the timing, and the fee all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
