Here's What We Love About Yorkies

At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. Yorkies have a beautiful, long, silky coat that sheds very little, and they're often suggested for people with allergies. Yorkies generally weigh 7 pounds or less, yet they carry themselves with a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of snuggling up and staying by your side is the icing on the cake. Most families find that Yorkies fit right in. Since there are so few responsible breeders across the country, finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Wyandotte, Michigan area can be challenging. This is why we're so proud to offer carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Wyandotte. Our mission is to help every family find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Here's Why Our Puppies Are the Best

The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. The standards we follow go well beyond the basics. We genetically test all of our adult dogs, and each one comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it builds the foundation for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll be able to look around our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends and keeping in touch so we can watch our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before heading home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Getting a Yorkie Puppy Home to Wyandotte, Michigan

Three ways work here, and which one we suggest for Wyandotte mostly comes down to how you feel about the drive.

Pickup at the farm is free and it's the option we point Michigan families toward first. The drive is short by our standards. From Wyandotte it's 143 miles, which works out to 2 to 4 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration at the table, and drive home with the puppy in your lap rather than in a van.

Home delivery by ground is our most popular option. It costs a flat $350 anywhere in Michigan, so a Wayne County address pays the same whether it's in Wyandotte or out in , including Southgate MI, and Ecorse MI. A professional transport service drives door to door in a climate controlled van, the puppy travels in an individual carrier after a pre transport vet check, and you get updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and most families are holding their puppy within about three days of departure, often sooner given how short the run north is.

Flight nanny is the fast option and gets quoted per flight. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. Yorkies make this easy because a puppy and an airline approved soft carrier together come nowhere near the twenty pound cabin limit. Wyandotte families would meet the nanny at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, and Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport. Health certificates are arranged before travel, and weather delays are worth planning around in winter.
