See What We Love About Yorkies

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, known to most people as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts. People with allergies are often pointed toward Yorkies, since their beautiful, long, silky coat sheds very little. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the close bond they build with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They usually fit right in with most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Willowbrook, California area can be difficult, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Willowbrook. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are Hard to Beat

When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, The Puppy House does things the right way. We hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are all well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy starts out with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done over the first few weeks. Next comes socialization, another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. The puppies play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit and choose your puppy in person whenever possible. That way, you can see our home and our dogs for yourself and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Willowbrook, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Willowbrook the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Willowbrook means 2049 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Willowbrook or in , including Compton CA, and Lynwood CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Willowbrook. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Willowbrook we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
