Find Out What We Love About Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies for short, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This low-shedding breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies usually tip the scales at 7 pounds or less, yet they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But what wins people's hearts is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their fondness for cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. For most families, a Yorkie fits right in. Responsible breeders are few and far between across the country, which makes finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Union City, California area a challenge. This is why we're proud to make our carefully bred Yorkie puppies available to families in Union City. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Make the Best Companions

At The Puppy House, we take care to breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. For us, the basics are only the starting point. We only work with genetically tested adult dogs from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

From the start, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another essential step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. In the backyard, our puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you can, we'd love for you to come see us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can tour our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We treat placing our Yorkies as more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love meeting new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our puppies grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy gets their first round of vaccinations and a thorough exam from a veterinarian before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Union City, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Union City the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Union City means 2158 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Union City or in . Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Union City. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Alameda County families meet their nanny at San Carlos Airport, and San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Union City we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
