Find Out Why We're So Fond of Yorkies

Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. The Yorkie's long, silky coat is beautiful and low-shedding, which makes the breed a common recommendation for people with allergies. Yorkies usually tip the scales at 7 pounds or less, yet they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They settle into most family homes with ease. There are very few responsible breeders across the country, so finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Soledad, California area can be difficult. This is why we're so proud to offer carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Soledad. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Right Choice

Here at The Puppy House, we breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. Every adult dog we own is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They get plenty of time to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's excellent socialization, and it gives them lots of exercise as well.

Feel free to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll be able to look around our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies to heart, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. Nothing makes us happier than making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first set of shots and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Soledad, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Soledad the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Soledad means 2148 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Soledad or in , including Greenfield CA, King City CA, Gonzales CA, Pine Canyon CA, and San Lucas CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Soledad. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Monterey County families meet their nanny at Monterey Regional Airport, and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Soledad we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
