Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Santa Monica, CA

Discover Why We're So Fond of Yorkies
Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies because their long, beautiful, silky coat sheds very little. Although they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They settle into most family homes with ease. Given how few responsible breeders there are across the country, finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Santa Monica, California area can be difficult. This is why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Santa Monica. We're committed to giving every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Why So Many Families Choose Our Puppies
Here at The Puppy House, we breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. We hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of space for playing and socializing.
During their first few weeks, our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. We also focus on socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. In our backyard, the puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.
If you can, we'd love for you to come see us and pick out your puppy in person. You'll be able to look around our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, hearing from them over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before heading home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Santa Monica, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Santa Monica the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Santa Monica means 2060 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Santa Monica or in , including and Marina del Rey CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Santa Monica. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Los Angeles International Airport, and Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Santa Monica we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
