Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Santa Barbara, CA

Discover Why We're So Fond of Yorkies
Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. This breed is known for its long, beautiful, silky coat, and because it sheds very little, it's often recommended for people with allergies. Even though they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. However, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. Yorkies adapt easily to most families. Tracking down a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Santa Barbara, California area can be challenging, since responsible breeders are so rare across the country. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Santa Barbara. We want every family to be able to bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why So Many Families Choose Our Puppies
Here at The Puppy House, we breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. Our standards go far beyond the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. We give our dogs great care and plenty of room to play and socialize.
We start every puppy on Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Another important step is socialization, which helps shape good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
If you can make the trip, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. While you're here, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. For us, placing a Yorkie is a serious commitment and more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Each puppy leaves with their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam completed. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Santa Barbara, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Santa Barbara the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Santa Barbara means 2113 miles and 41 to 43 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Santa Barbara or in , including Carpinteria CA, Montecito CA, Mission Canyon CA, Toro Canyon CA, Summerland CA, and New Cuyama CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Santa Barbara. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Santa Barbara County families meet their nanny at Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, and Santa Maria Public Airport Captain G Allan Hancock Field. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Santa Barbara we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
