Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in San Francisco, CA

See Why We're Crazy About Yorkies
Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. Yorkies have a long, beautiful, silky coat and are often recommended for people with allergies because they shed very little. Yorkies generally weigh 7 pounds or less, yet they carry themselves with a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But underneath that attitude, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They're well suited to most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near San Francisco, California can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're proud to bring our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in San Francisco. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why So Many Families Choose Our Puppies
At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. Our standards go much further than the basics. All the adult dogs in our program are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.
Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We'd be happy to have you visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies to heart, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy receives their first set of shots and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to San Francisco, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for San Francisco the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from San Francisco means 2175 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in San Francisco or in , including Tiburon CA, Sausalito CA, and Belvedere CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for San Francisco. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. San Francisco County families meet their nanny at San Francisco International Airport, and San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in San Francisco we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
