See Why We're Crazy About Yorkies

Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, their sweet nature and the deep connection they form with their family are what really win people over. Their love of snuggling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. Yorkies make a wonderful fit for most families. In the San Bernardino, California area, reputable Yorkie breeders can be tough to find, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. This is why we're proud to make our carefully bred Yorkie puppies available to families in San Bernardino. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can depend on.

Why So Many Families Choose Our Puppies

At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. We hold our program to standards well beyond the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization matters just as much, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's wonderful socialization, and they get plenty of exercise too.

If you can, we'd love for you to come see us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can tour our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies matters to us, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. Our favorite part is making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to San Bernardino, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for San Bernardino the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from San Bernardino means 1994 miles and 39 to 41 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in San Bernardino or in , including Highland CA, Colton CA, and Crestline CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for San Bernardino. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. San Bernardino County families meet their nanny at San Bernardino International Airport, and Ontario International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in San Bernardino we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
