See Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed that's very dear to us. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. What really wins people over, though, is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They quickly become part of most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Richardson, Texas area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. For that reason, we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Richardson. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

Find Out What Makes Our Yorkie Puppies Special

At The Puppy House, we care about breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Meeting the basics isn't enough for us. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well looked after and has plenty of space to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is just as important, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. The puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for their social skills, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

You're invited to visit us and choose your puppy in person if you can. During your visit, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're serious about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's more than a one-time sale. We love meeting new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our puppies grow up in loving homes.

Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Puppy Delivery to Richardson, Texas

Home delivery by ground transport

A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. Richardson is 981 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Collin County include Richardson along with .

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and Richardson families usually meet their nanny at Dallas Love Field, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.

Pickup at the farm

Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From Richardson that's 19 to 21 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.

What we suggest for Richardson

For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
