Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in New Albany, IN
See Why We Love Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what most people love is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They tend to fit right in with most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the New Albany, Indiana area can be difficult, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. This is why we're so proud to offer carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in New Albany. Our mission is to help every family find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In New Albany
Why Our Puppies Are a Cut Above
At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards go much further than the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Every one of our dogs is well cared for and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is another big part of the process, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. The puppies play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. It's a great chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're serious about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's more than a one-time sale. It means a lot to us to make new friends, keep in touch, and watch our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy is given their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.
What Delivery to New Albany, Indiana Costs and How Long It Takes
Indiana is one of the few states where all three options make sense, so it's worth reading through before you decide what fits New Albany.
Farm pickup
You drive to Sugarcreek by appointment. The puppy goes home with you the same day. From New Albany that's 271 miles, or 4 to 6 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration with us face to face, and leave with a bag of the food the puppy has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Home delivery by ground
A professional pet transport service drives the puppy to your door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Indiana falls in our regional tier at a flat $350, and Floyd County is no exception, whether the address is in New Albany or over in , including Salem IN, Georgetown IN, Corydon IN, Galena IN, New Pekin IN, Greenville IN, Palmyra IN, Borden IN, Milltown IN, Marengo IN, English IN, New Salisbury IN, Campbellsburg IN, and Lanesville IN. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and because your state is one of the shorter legs on the route, Indiana stops tend to come early in the run. Most families across the country have their puppy within about three days of departure. We confirm the timing on the phone rather than promising a date in writing.
Flight nanny
A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these are done in a single day. For New Albany, the workable arrival points are Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, and Blue Grass Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, so we price it out once we know the airport.
What we usually suggest
If 4 to 6 hours each way sounds like a long day rather than an overnight, come get the puppy yourself. Meeting the litter is worth the drive. If it sounds like more car time than you want, ground delivery is the better fit, and it costs the same from anywhere in the state. One scheduling note that catches people out: most of Indiana runs on Eastern time, but the counties up by Chicago and the ones around Evansville are on Central, so we confirm arrival windows in your local time before anyone sets off.
We send you off with the food the puppy already knows. Walk on a harness rather than a collar from day one, in the carrier and out of it, because this breed is prone to tracheal problems and neck pressure is the easiest part of that to avoid.
