Find Out Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies as they're often called, have a special place in our hearts. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Yorkies generally weigh 7 pounds or less, yet they carry themselves with a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the close bond they build with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. For most families, a Yorkie fits right in. Reputable Yorkie breeders are hard to come by in the Murrieta, California area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Murrieta. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

Why Our Puppies Are Top Quality

At The Puppy House, we believe in doing things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards go much further than the basics. All of our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and every one is genetically tested. Our dogs are well cared for and enjoy plenty of room to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore in the backyard alongside kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for their social skills, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see where your puppy was raised, spend time with our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. It means a lot to us to make new friends, keep in touch, and watch our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Murrieta, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Murrieta the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Murrieta means 2006 miles and 39 to 41 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Murrieta or in , including Temecula CA, Wildomar CA, and French Valley CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Murrieta. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Riverside County families meet their nanny at McClellan-Palomar Airport, and San Bernardino International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Murrieta we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
