Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Mount Vernon, NY
Find Out What We Adore About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, commonly known as Yorkies, hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at The Puppy House. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Although they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what most people love is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They settle in easily with most families. There are very few responsible breeders across the country, so finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Mount Vernon, New York area can be difficult. For this reason, we're proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Mount Vernon. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

Discover Why Our Puppies Are the Best
When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, The Puppy House does things the right way. Our standards are set well above the minimum. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have all the room they need to play and socialize.
Every puppy starts out with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done over the first few weeks. Another important step is socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. We let our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.
If possible, we invite you to come visit us and choose your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're serious about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Yorkshire Terrier Delivery to Mount Vernon, New York
There are three ways to get your puppy home to Mount Vernon, and we settle on one during a phone call after the deposit is in.
Farm pickup in Sugarcreek. New York is one of the states where driving out makes sense for a lot of families. From Mount Vernon you're looking at 7 to 9 hours each way, 409 miles on the road. You get to see the facility, meet the parents, and go over the health records and microchip registration at the kitchen table. Visits are by appointment.
Ground delivery. A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in its own carrier, with updates along the way. New York is a flat $350. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and New York is an early stop on the eastern route, so most families here are holding their puppy the next day. That matters more than it sounds for this breed, since a Yorkshire Terrier has a single silky coat with no undercoat and not much defense against a cold February morning. The van stays temperature controlled the whole way. Around Westchester County the driver also delivers to , including Yonkers NY, and Eastchester NY, and the whole arrangement suits anyone who would rather not deal with an airport.
Flight nanny. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin, under the seat in an airline approved soft carrier, and never in cargo. Most flights are done same day. For Mount Vernon, we meet families at baggage claim at LaGuardia Airport, and Teterboro Airport. Yorkshire Terriers clear the twenty pound carrier limit without any trouble at four to seven pounds, so the breed is about as easy as it gets on a plane. We arrange the health certificate before travel, and the puppy has to be at least eight weeks old. Cost runs above ground delivery and is quoted per flight.
What we suggest for Mount Vernon. If 7 to 9 hours each way is a day you can spare, come get the puppy yourself. It's a pretty drive. You'll learn more in an hour at the farm than in a dozen text messages. If that's more road than you want, ground delivery at $350 is the sensible choice. Flight nanny is for families who want the puppy in their arms in a matter of hours.
