Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in McAllen, TX
Learn Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers
Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Even though most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, they often act like big dogs, with an attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of snuggling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They tend to fit right in with most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the McAllen, Texas area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. This is why we're so proud to offer carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in McAllen. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In McAllen
Discover Why Our Yorkie Puppies Are the Best
At The Puppy House, we care about breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. We hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond the basics. We make sure all of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy receives Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which is a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another essential step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. Our pups play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for their social skills, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We invite you to visit and choose your puppy in person whenever possible. That way, you can see where your puppy was raised, spend time with our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take every Yorkie placement seriously, and to us it's much more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Puppy Delivery to McAllen, Texas
Home delivery by ground transport
A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. McAllen is 1371 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Hidalgo County include McAllen along with , including Mission TX, and Hidalgo TX.
Flight nanny
A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and McAllen families usually meet their nanny at McAllen Miller International Airport, and Valley International Airport. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.
Pickup at the farm
Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From McAllen that's 26 to 28 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.
What we suggest for McAllen
For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
