Find Out Why Yorkies Mean So Much to Us

Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies as most people call them, are near and dear to our hearts at The Puppy House. This low-shedding breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies. Most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, but their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. But what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the close bond they build with their family. Their love of cuddles and being near you all the time is the icing on the cake. They tend to fit right in with most families. Families in the Kingsport, Tennessee area often find it challenging to locate a reputable Yorkie breeder, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. This is why we're proud to make our carefully bred Yorkie puppies available to families in Kingsport. Our goal is for every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Makes Our Yorkie Puppies the Best

At The Puppy House, we pride ourselves on breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards go well past the bare minimum. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested, and they come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

All of our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step that helps our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. In our backyard, the puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. They get great socialization this way, along with plenty of exercise.

We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can check out our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy gets their first round of shots and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Delivery to Kingsport, Tennessee: What It Costs and How Long It Takes

Tennessee falls in our regional delivery tier at a flat $350, and the drive from Sugarcreek to Kingsport runs 279 miles, roughly 5 to 7 hours. Here's how the three options work.

Farm pickup in Sugarcreek

You drive to us by appointment. The puppy goes home the same day. As a rule of thumb, around five hours each way is a reasonable day, past seven it gets long, and somewhere around nine it stops making sense, so you'll know where Kingsport falls. Families who come up meet the parent dogs, walk through the vaccination records and microchip registration at the kitchen table, and leave with a bag of the food the puppy has been eating along with a toy and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Home delivery by ground

Most Tennessee families take this route. A professional pet transport service carries the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and Tennessee is close enough to the route that families here are usually among the earlier stops rather than riding along for days. The fee is a flat $350 for Kingsport, for , including Johnson City TN, Bristol TN, Greeneville TN, Bloomingdale TN, Church Hill TN, Mount Carmel TN, Big Stone Gap VA, Hazard KY, Spurgeon TN, Norton VA, Colonial Heights TN, Wise VA, Tusculum TN, Jenkins KY, Gate City VA, Cumberland KY, Coeburn VA, Whitesburg KY, Surgoinsville TN, Pennington Gap VA, Appalachia VA, Fall Branch TN, Weber City VA, Dryden VA, Gray TN, Pound VA, McRoberts KY, Riverview VA, Hindman KY, McDowell KY, Lynch KY, Fleming-Neon KY, Pippa Passes KY, and Diablock KY, and for anywhere else in Hawkins County, and we confirm the timing on a call. No airport trip, no cargo hold, and nothing for you to arrange.

Flight nanny

A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them on a commercial flight, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. Most of these are done the same day. Tennessee has good coverage for this, and for Kingsport the workable arrival points are Tri-Cities Regional TN/VA Airport, and Asheville Regional Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkie is ever close to, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. It costs more than ground and it's quoted per flight.

What we usually suggest

If the drive from Kingsport is short enough to do in a day, weigh the pickup against ground delivery, because it's worth it if you want to see where the puppy grew up. If it isn't, ground delivery is the sensible choice. Flight nanny gets it done in a day.
