Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Kansas City, KS
Find Out Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies as they're often called, have a special place in our hearts. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat and sheds very little, which is why it's often recommended for people with allergies. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Yet what really wins people over is their sweet disposition and the deep bond they form with their family. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They quickly become part of most families. Searching for a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Kansas City, Kansas area can be challenging, given how few responsible breeders there are nationwide. That's why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Kansas City. We want every family to find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Kansas City
Why Our Puppies Are Top Quality
At The Puppy House, we believe in doing things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. We make sure all of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog here is well cared for and has lots of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another essential step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. Our puppies explore and play in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
Feel free to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can meet us face to face and see our home and our dogs. Every Yorkie we place matters to us, and it's never just a one-time sale. We love making new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our puppies grow up in loving homes.
Every puppy gets their first round of shots and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Kansas City, Kansas
Home delivery by ground
Nine out of ten of our puppies travel this way. We would recommend it for Kansas City and for anywhere else in Kansas. A professional pet delivery service picks your puppy up here on Tuesday morning and drives it to your door in a climate controlled van, riding in an individual carrier. Every van has two drivers, so someone is with the puppies the whole way. The delivery service has its own veterinarian look each puppy over after pickup and before departure, and the driver checks in during the trip and calls with an arrival time as they get close.
Delivery to Kansas is a flat $450, and that covers the whole state, so Kansas City, , including Kansas City MO, Leavenworth KS, Parkville MO, and Weatherby Lake MO, and every other address in Wyandotte County pay the same. Schedules for the week close at noon on Monday. Kansas City is 696 miles from Sugarcreek, about 13 to 15 hours of driving. That's an approximate figure rather than a schedule, and most deliveries land within a week of pickup.
Pickup at the farm
You're welcome to come to Sugarcreek and take your puppy home yourself. Pickup is free and by appointment. We can set the time aside for you properly instead of fitting you in between farm chores. You get to see where the puppy was raised, meet us, and go over the health records and the warranty in person. For a Kansas City family that's 13 to 15 hours each way before you count a single stop, so most people who do it are already heading east for another reason.
Flight nanny
This one is available on request. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. For Kansas City, the handoff would be at Kansas City International Airport, and Manhattan Regional Airport. It runs between $750 and $1,200 depending on the route and the airline. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old and under 20 pounds with the carrier, which no Yorkie comes close to, and a licensed veterinarian has to issue a health certificate before the flight.
Blood sugar on a long trip
Yorkie puppies are small enough that blood sugar matters on a long trip. Whichever way your puppy travels, feed a small meal soon after it arrives and then stick to three or four small meals a day for the first few months. Keep the first evening quiet, with no visitors lined up. A four pound puppy that has been on the road across two thirds of the country needs sleep more than it needs a welcome party.
