See Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed's gorgeous, long, silky coat sheds very little, so it's often suggested for people with allergies. Yorkies usually tip the scales at 7 pounds or less, yet they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But at heart, Yorkies win people over with their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of snuggling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit right in with most families. Reputable Yorkie breeders are hard to come by in the Jurupa Valley, California area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's what makes us so proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Jurupa Valley. We want to make sure every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold our program to standards well beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. We take good care of our dogs and give them plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Another important step is socialization, which helps our puppies build good behavior and habits as they grow. Our pups play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.

If you can make the trip, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. During your visit, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. We love making new friends and keeping in touch so we can watch our pups grow up in loving homes.

Our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before they go home. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Jurupa Valley, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Jurupa Valley the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Jurupa Valley means 2007 miles and 39 to 41 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Jurupa Valley or in , including and Riverside CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Jurupa Valley. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Riverside County families meet their nanny at Ontario International Airport, and San Bernardino International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Jurupa Valley we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
