Find Out Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, often simply called Yorkies, are very close to our hearts. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies usually tip the scales at 7 pounds or less, yet they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. That said, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and always staying close is the icing on the cake. They blend right in with most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Hilton Head Island. Every family should have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on, and that's what we're here to provide.

What Makes Our Puppies a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. The standards we follow go well beyond the basics. Our adult dogs are all genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. We take good care of our dogs and give them plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy we raise goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it builds the foundation for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We'd be happy to have you visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll get to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We treat placing our Yorkies as more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy gets their first round of vaccinations and is checked thoroughly by a veterinarian. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Getting a Yorkie Puppy to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina: Pickup, Ground, and Flight Nanny

Most Hilton Head Island families choose home delivery. A professional pet transport service moves the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, with its own carrier, a veterinary check before leaving, and updates on the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays and the flat fee to South Carolina is $350, the same in Hilton Head Island as in , including Bluffton SC, Port Royal SC, Beaufort SC, Burton SC, Tybee Island GA, and Shell Point SC. Since Hilton Head Island is 574 miles from the farm, puppies headed your way usually arrive early in the run rather than at the end of it, and most families have theirs within about three days of departure. The climate controlled van earns its keep on this route more than on most.

Flight nanny moves faster. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and hands the puppy over at baggage claim. Most finish inside one day. Families in Beaufort County fly their puppies into Hilton Head Airport, and Savannah Hilton Head International Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds with the carrier, and cleared by a licensed veterinarian, which a four to seven pound Yorkshire Terrier manages without any trouble. This one is quoted per flight and costs more than ground.

Farm pickup is open to anyone willing to make the drive, though at 10 to 12 hours each way it's a long day from Hilton Head Island and only a handful of families do it. Visits run by appointment. We go through the records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee in person. The method, the timing, and the fee all get sorted on a call once your puppy is reserved.
