Find Out Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family that really win people over. Their love of snuggling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They adapt well to most families. Responsible breeders are few and far between across the country, which makes finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Hemet, California area a challenge. That's why we're proud to offer families in Hemet our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. Our aim is to give every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Stand Out

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We go well beyond the basic standards. We only work with genetically tested adult dogs from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step that helps our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. Out in the backyard, our puppies play and explore alongside kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. That playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you can, we'd love for you to come see us and pick out your puppy in person. You'll be able to look around our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We put a lot of thought into placing our Yorkies, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love keeping in touch with the new friends we make and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Hemet, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Hemet the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Hemet means 1988 miles and 39 to 41 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Hemet or in , including San Jacinto CA, East Hemet CA, and Lake Riverside CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Hemet. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Riverside County families meet their nanny at Palm Springs International Airport, and San Bernardino International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Hemet we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
