Learn Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat that sheds very little, making it a popular recommendation for people with allergies. Small as they are at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But their sweet temperament and the deep bond they create with their family are what win people over. And their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They settle in easily with most families. Since there are so few responsible breeders across the country, finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Greenfield, Indiana area can be challenging. That's why we're so proud to provide families in Greenfield with our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. We believe every family deserves access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Stand Out

At The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard than the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Each dog in our care is well looked after and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done during the first few weeks of life. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Playtime happens in the backyard, where our puppies explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This gives them great socialization and plenty of exercise at the same time.

If you're able to, we'd love for you to visit and choose your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies matters to us, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, hearing from them over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy has had their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam by the time they go home. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

What Delivery to Greenfield, Indiana Costs and How Long It Takes

Indiana is one of the few states where all three options make sense, so it's worth reading through before you decide what fits Greenfield.

Farm pickup

You drive to Sugarcreek by appointment. The puppy goes home with you the same day. From Greenfield that's 224 miles, or 3 to 5 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration with us face to face, and leave with a bag of the food the puppy has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Home delivery by ground

A professional pet transport service drives the puppy to your door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Indiana falls in our regional tier at a flat $350, and Hancock County is no exception, whether the address is in Greenfield or over in , including Shelbyville IN, Rushville IN, Fortville IN, Ingalls IN, New Palestine IN, Knightstown IN, Morristown IN, Spiceland IN, Shirley IN, Carthage IN, Waldron IN, and Milroy IN. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and because your state is one of the shorter legs on the route, Indiana stops tend to come early in the run. Most families across the country have their puppy within about three days of departure. We confirm the timing on the phone rather than promising a date in writing.

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these are done in a single day. For Greenfield, the workable arrival points are Indianapolis International Airport, and Purdue University Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, so we price it out once we know the airport.

What we usually suggest

If 3 to 5 hours each way sounds like a long day rather than an overnight, come get the puppy yourself. Meeting the litter is worth the drive. If it sounds like more car time than you want, ground delivery is the better fit, and it costs the same from anywhere in the state. One scheduling note that catches people out: most of Indiana runs on Eastern time, but the counties up by Chicago and the ones around Evansville are on Central, so we confirm arrival windows in your local time before anyone sets off.

We send you off with the food the puppy already knows. Walk on a harness rather than a collar from day one, in the carrier and out of it, because this breed is prone to tracheal problems and neck pressure is the easiest part of that to avoid.
