Find Out Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat that sheds very little, making it a popular recommendation for people with allergies. Small as they are at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They fit right in with most families. Reputable Yorkie breeders are hard to come by in the Grand Prairie, Texas area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. This is why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Grand Prairie. We want every family to find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Families Choose Our Yorkie Puppies

Breeding and raising Yorkies the right way matters to us at The Puppy House. The bar we set for ourselves is well above the basics. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have all the room they need to play and socialize.

Every puppy we raise goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first weeks of life. Socialization is another important piece, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They spend time in the backyard playing and exploring with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it keeps them active too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. This gives you a chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy gets their first round of shots and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Puppy Delivery to Grand Prairie, Texas

Home delivery by ground transport

A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. Grand Prairie is 1007 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Dallas County include Grand Prairie along with , including and Arlington TX.

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and Grand Prairie families usually meet their nanny at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, and Dallas Love Field. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.

Pickup at the farm

Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From Grand Prairie that's 19 to 21 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.

What we suggest for Grand Prairie

For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
