Why Yorkies Mean So Much to Us

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Yorkies usually weigh no more than 7 pounds, yet they have a big-dog attitude that can be both feisty and bossy. But the biggest reason people fall in love with them is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They adapt well to most families. Locating reputable Yorkie breeders in the Eureka, California area can be challenging, as there are very few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're proud to bring our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Eureka. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

What Sets Our Yorkie Puppies Apart

Breeding and raising Yorkies the right way matters to us at The Puppy House. We go well beyond the basic standards. All the adult dogs in our program are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.

All of our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another big part of the process, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Out in the backyard, our puppies play and explore alongside kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This helps with socialization and gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit and choose your puppy in person whenever possible. That way, you can tour our home, see our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies to heart, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Every puppy gets their first round of shots and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Eureka, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Eureka the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Eureka means 2207 miles and 43 to 45 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Eureka or in , including Honolulu HI, East Honolulu HI, Pearl City HI, Waipahu HI, Kailua HI, Kaneohe HI, Mililani Town HI, Ewa Gentry HI, Kapolei HI, Mililani Mauka HI, Makakilo HI, Schofield Barracks HI, Arcata CA, McKinleyville CA, Wahiawa HI, Ocean Pointe HI, Royal Kunia HI, Ewa Beach HI, Halawa HI, Waimalu HI, Waianae HI, Fortuna CA, Waipio HI, Nanakuli HI, Maili HI, Kapaa HI, Aiea HI, Hickam Housing HI, Makaha HI, Ahuimanu HI, Waikele HI, Lihue HI, Crescent City CA, Ewa Villages HI, West Loch Estate HI, Wailua Homesteads HI, Laie HI, Waimanalo HI, Kalaheo HI, Waipio Acres HI, Myrtletown CA, Hanamaulu HI, Kahaluu HI, Pupukea HI, Heeia HI, Humboldt Hill CA, Waimanalo Beach HI, Whitmore Village HI, Iroquois Point HI, Puhi HI, Haleiwa HI, Kekaha HI, Rio Dell CA, Pine Hills CA, Waialua HI, Hauula HI, Hoopa CA, Eleele HI, Cutten CA, Wailua HI, Hanapepe HI, Bayview CA, Koloa HI, Kilauea HI, Wheeler AFB HI, Anahola HI, Kahuku HI, Lawai HI, Bertsch-Oceanview CA, Maunawili HI, Mokuleia HI, Ko Olina HI, Makaha Valley HI, Princeville HI, Willow Creek CA, Omao HI, Ferndale CA, Redway CA, Blue Lake CA, Laytonville CA, Kaaawa HI, Westhaven-Moonstone CA, Punaluu HI, Hydesville CA, Poipu HI, Kaumakani HI, Garberville CA, Fieldbrook CA, Manila CA, Indianola CA, Klamath CA, Loleta CA, Miranda CA, Shelter Cove CA, and Scotia CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Eureka. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Humboldt County families meet their nanny at California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport, and Jack Mc Namara Field Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Eureka we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
