Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Cortlandt, NY
See What We Love About Yorkies
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, known to most people as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts. The breed's long, silky coat is beautiful and sheds very little, so Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what wins people's hearts is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddles and being near you all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit easily into most families. Families in the Cortlandt, New York area often find it challenging to locate a reputable Yorkie breeder, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we're proud to offer families in Cortlandt our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. Our goal is to help every family bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Cortlandt
Why Our Puppies Are the Best Around
At The Puppy House, we take care to breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well looked after and has plenty of space to play and socialize.
Every puppy receives Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which is a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is also an important step, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. They play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's a fun way for them to get exercise too.
We'd be happy to have you visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. This way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We don't take placing our Yorkies lightly, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkshire Terrier Delivery to Cortlandt, New York
There are three ways to get your puppy home to Cortlandt, and we settle on one during a phone call after the deposit is in.
Farm pickup in Sugarcreek. New York is one of the states where driving out makes sense for a lot of families. From Cortlandt you're looking at 7 to 9 hours each way, 407 miles on the road. You get to see the facility, meet the parents, and go over the health records and microchip registration at the kitchen table. Visits are by appointment.
Ground delivery. A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in its own carrier, with updates along the way. New York is a flat $350. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and New York is an early stop on the eastern route, so most families here are holding their puppy the next day. That matters more than it sounds for this breed, since a Yorkshire Terrier has a single silky coat with no undercoat and not much defense against a cold February morning. The van stays temperature controlled the whole way. Around Westchester County the driver also delivers to , including Yorktown NY, Peekskill NY, Croton-on-Hudson NY, Montrose NY, Buchanan NY, Crugers NY, and Verplanck NY, and the whole arrangement suits anyone who would rather not deal with an airport.
Flight nanny. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin, under the seat in an airline approved soft carrier, and never in cargo. Most flights are done same day. For Cortlandt, we meet families at baggage claim at Westchester County Airport, and New York Stewart International Airport. Yorkshire Terriers clear the twenty pound carrier limit without any trouble at four to seven pounds, so the breed is about as easy as it gets on a plane. We arrange the health certificate before travel, and the puppy has to be at least eight weeks old. Cost runs above ground delivery and is quoted per flight.
What we suggest for Cortlandt. If 7 to 9 hours each way is a day you can spare, come get the puppy yourself. It's a pretty drive. You'll learn more in an hour at the farm than in a dozen text messages. If that's more road than you want, ground delivery at $350 is the sensible choice. Flight nanny is for families who want the puppy in their arms in a matter of hours.
