Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Chico, CA

Explore What We Love About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed's gorgeous, long, silky coat sheds very little, so it's often suggested for people with allergies. Even at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can come across as feisty and bossy. But at heart, Yorkies win people over with their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of snuggling up and staying by your side is the icing on the cake. They quickly become part of most families. It can be challenging to find reputable Yorkie breeders in the Chico, California area, since responsible breeders are few and far between across the country. That's why we're proud to bring our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Chico. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Chico
Here's What Sets Our Puppies Apart
Here at The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. Our standards are much higher than what's required. All the adult dogs in our program are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of space for playing and socializing.
All of our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. In the backyard, our puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. Besides being great socialization, it gives them plenty of exercise.
If you're able, come visit us and pick out your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're careful about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's always more than a one-time sale. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy is given their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Chico, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Chico the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Chico means 2107 miles and 41 to 43 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Chico or in , including Redding CA, Oroville CA, Magalia CA, Orland CA, Corning CA, Thermalito CA, Willows CA, Durham CA, Paradise CA, East Quincy CA, Chester CA, Hamilton City CA, Quincy CA, Los Molinos CA, Westwood CA, Berry Creek CA, Gerber CA, Maxwell CA, Butte Creek Canyon CA, Greenville CA, Forest Ranch CA, Butte Valley CA, Cohasset CA, and Concow CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Chico. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Butte County families meet their nanny at Redding Municipal Airport, and Sacramento International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Chico we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
